Living in Round Rock

The Austin suburb has approximately 125,000 residents and is continuing to grow. It's easily accessible by I-35, making it easy to get to downtown and Austin. With the addition of a toll road that was recently constructed, it makes it easy to have quick and easy access to the airport. Drivers can also drive up to 80 mph to reach their destination a lot quicker.

In recent years, Dell and other large companies relocated to the local area, which prompted a wave of subdivision developments in the late 90s and early 2000s. This created an ample inventory of single-family homes with an average of 2,000 to 3,000 square feet with lot sizes of 6,000 to 8,000 square feet. The newer homes in Round Rock make this a desirable area to be a homeowner without living too far from downtown Austin.

Most of the attractions and activities available are within five minutes of each other, making it easy to get around quickly without spending a lot of time in the car.

Many people enjoy residing in Round Rock because it resembles downtown Austin without having a skyline. It has a major bridge and water tower with a sleepy vibe that is ideal for those who work in the city of Austin and want a break from the busyness of the area. Although Austin is locked in due to the growth that has occurred in recent years, Round Rock still has plenty of undeveloped land and room to grow for more housing opportunities and more job growth as more tech companies are moving to the area.

Kids can also play with large instruments, rolling slides, and swings to stay active.

Kalahari is a top attraction for all ages and is a waterpark resort that attracts visitors from different parts of the state. Here, children and adults can cool off in one of the largest indoor waterparks in the U.S. at a resort that has an African safari theme. It's also equipped with a modern arcade, restaurants, and a resort where guests can book a room and stay overnight. A spa is also available for scheduling a massage and additional services.

Old Settlers Park is another place to visit with the kids and has over 640 acres of parkland to explore. This park has dozens of baseball parks, volleyball courts, a lake for fishing, and a massive movie screen for movie nights in the summer.

Round Rock Sports

Round Rock is home to the minor league baseball team, the Round Rock Express, an affiliate of the Texas Rangers. Local residents are proactive about watching games at Dell Diamond, which is a popular activity due to the lack of MLB teams in Austin. Not only are fans known to be loud in the stands, but the games are exciting and affordable, making it easy for large groups to attend.

Many people also come to participate in leagues for children and adults at Old Settlers Park, which has 20 baseball fields and is where practices and games are held throughout the week. It's a popular place for youth and amateur sports each season.

There's also a stadium that is under construction for the Major League Soccer team that will call the area home at the Domain, according to austin.culturemap.com. This will allow professional soccer fans the chance to have a new team to follow and even attend games a few miles from home.
